The treatment approach of patients and their families and impact on SMS reminder toward OPD follow up of psychotic patients.

Background: The patient's follow-up is a significant challenge for managing psychiatric illness, especially psychotic disorders. Although many factors affect patients' clinical non-attendance with psychosis, the approach of patients and their families toward medication influences treatment follow up. study evaluates family's regarding OPD up effect SMS reminder on psychosis. Methodology: This was conducted patient attending at Karwan e Hayat, Karachi. A total 248 were randomly divided into two groups, group treatment-as-usual or control group. Computer-based to improve sent in Urdu English four messages within 15 days each appointment over period 24-weeks, while no message group. Results: All (Intervention & Control groups) further groups based caring family reflected through several follow-ups, including poor less than five visits an appropriate having more visits. impact reminders both observed follow-ups.
